Cordocentesis: Overview
Cordocentesis is an advanced prenatal procedure in which a fetal blood sample is obtained from the umbilical cord in selected clinical situations. It is planned only for appropriate indications after a detailed assessment.
How is the assessment planned?
Each procedure and follow-up plan is individualized by considering gestational age, the mother’s medical history, previous pregnancies, current ultrasound findings and any available screening results together.
This page is for general information only. Whether a procedure is indicated and its appropriate timing are determined through individual medical assessment.
